Shahenshah Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Ziaul Haq Maizbhandari

Shahanshah Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Ziaul Haq Maizbhandari appears to be an unparallel of his time. Indeed, he has glorified the history of Sufism by his own virtues and attainment of unprecedented spiritual capabilities. He was born on 25th December,1928, corresponding to 10th Poush of 1335 Bengali Calendar Year. This is a red-letter day in the anecdotes of Maizbhandar Sharif. He is the son of Hazrat Delwar Hossain Maizbhandari, who is the grandson and heir of Hazrat Gausul Azam Maizbhandari Shah Sufi Moulana Syed Ahmed Ullah (Hazrat Kebla Kaba). His mother is Syeda Shajeda Khatun, who is the daughter of Hazrat Shah Sufi Moulana Syed Golamur Rahman (Baba Bhandari). In this way, Shahanshah Maizbhandari is connected with three great powerful spiritual personalities – Hazrat Kebla Kaba, Baba Bhandari and Hazrat Delwar Hossain Maizbhandari. As indicated earlier, Hazrat Delwar Hossain Maizbhandari was directly blessed by Hazrat Kebla Kaba, and Baba Bhandari and achieved a very high level spiritual attainment.
On the 7th day of his birth, Shahanshah was named as "Syed Ziaul Haq". His father was directed through a dream by Hazrat Kebla Kaba to keep this name. At the age of 21 days, Shahanshah Syed Ziaul Haq Maizbhandari became so ill that there was no sensation in his body. Physicians prescribed medicine but that did not work. Everyone in the family got very worried. At that time, his older grand mother Syeda Rabeya Khatoon came up and brought the baby to Hazrat Shah Sufi Moulana Syed Golamur Rahman (Baba Bhandari) and on her appeal for his grace towards the baby he extended his hand over the body of Shahanshah and asked to pour water on his (Baba Bhandari’s ) hand. Seven jars of water were poured. Thereafter, Baba Bhandari took 2 to 3 drops of water from his hand, and put it into the mouth of the Baby Shahanshah. The baby then at once got back into normalcy and opened his eyes. Through this event Baba Bhandari, indeed poured his spiritual power to Shahanshah.
